New listing! Interesting ornamental hand painted enamel leaf dish with 5 distinct sections perfect for putting out a variety of small finger foods or sauces. The black base color enamel is pretty rare to see and we feel really adds elegance to this piece when combined with the gilt edges and leaf stem. The hand painted design is quite intricate, requiring a great deal of care and artistry to pull off the lines so cleanly. It's a very well crafted porcelain piece, all hand painted and so marked on the bottom. It measures approximately 7.5" x 6.75" and rises to a height of 1.25". It's in excellent condition, part of a large Newport, Rhode Island estate collection consigned exclusively to Collectics.

Important new listing of a Hall China Cameo Rose teapot, very hard to find and actively sought by collectors in mint condition as is this teapot. The Cameo Rose pattern features the super realistic flower detail on each side but even more so has the elegant and curving lines that make this particular line so notable. Elongated and scrolling handle goes perfectly with the larger teapot body that tapers rather dramatically from top to bottom. The detailing is fine throughout, and it measures approximately 6.25" high and 6.5" in diameter not including the handle and spout. It's properly marked on the bottom with the Hall "Superior Hall Quality" mark and Cameo Rose pattern plus "Tested and approved by Mary Dunbary Jewel Homemakers Institute."       $115.00

Take your choice of two ceramic cameo wall plaques right off the wall of a very old Burlington, Vermont farmhouse wall, both ornate and highly detailed with lots of flourishes and small details that catch the eye. Each is cast in sold cerarmic so they're rather heavy, and they're signed on the side impressed in the ceramic Alexander Backer Co. and the copyright mark. Each wall plaque measures approximately 13.0" x 11.0", and both are in excellent condition. Buy them separately or buy them together as they're high quality pieces that have been priced to sell fast by a large consignor. 1 Roman figure in robes and headdress surrounded by black frame with raised gold highlights and scrollwork. 2 Cupid with wings surrounded by gold frame with raised gold highlights and scrollwork. While the two works feature different color frames, the style pattern matches, i.e. the form and details are the same so they look great as a pair. Items made by Alexander Backer are excellent gift items for those who appreciate art and sculpture. They are generally handmade and well-crafted products, whose production is done with a considerable amount of effort and care.

Here's an extremely hard to find hand carved plate, a souvenir of Montreux - the home of the famous Montreux Switzerland Jazz & Music Festival. This depiction is of the Castle at Chillon in Montreux Switzerland, the place that inspired Lord Byron's "Prisoner of Chillon". We're not sure what kind of stone this collector souvenir plate is carved from, but it's done via a cameo technique by cutting back progressive layers to reveal different colors and relief over the surface. We find this handcarved work to be particularly beautiful, with the chateaux in the foreground and the Swiss mountains and sky rising in the background. The plate has original paper labels on the front for Montreux and Sculpte a la Main and Handgeschnitzt, French and German for hand carved. It measures approximately 5.5" in diameter and is in excellent condition, right off the shelf of a Miami Beach, FL penthouse condominium. $32.00

Extremely pretty German decorative plates from the late 1940s / early1950s, with highly detailed painting of fruits and nuts and trimmed in a terrific orange color reminiscent of the color of Carnival glass. These decorative plates have vivid colors and are bright and cheery for any decor, and the open weave perimeter is a technical achievement in china that always draws the eye. The plates are in excellent condition and come in two sizes- 6.75" diameter and 9.75" diameter. Each set (6.75" and 9.75" plates ) comes with two plates, one of the apples and nuts and the other of the bananas and berries. Each is marked on the back with the mark of Cico China, "Bavaria Germany" and "U.S. Zone", and all 4 are in excellent condition with no chips or damage.

Back of Plate
Bareuther Mark

Fine hand painted floral Bareuther German porcelain plates have some of the most vibrant colors and highly detailed painting that we've seen in quite a while. The fine quality painting lends unparalleled realism to the flowers, and these are sure to generate complements whether just displayed on a shelf, hanging on a wall (they are already mounted for wall hanging which slips off should you so desire), or used as a special dinnerware service. Each plate is fully and properly marked on the back Bareuther Waldsassen, Bavaria Germany, and the style number. The plates each measure approximately 8.0" in diameter and are in excellent condition, part of a major estate consignment of fine German porcelain from the first half of the 20th century. They look great individually or as a matched pair hanging on the wall!

Twin pair of Berlin commemorative petite pitchers perfect for display and as serving pieces for cream, oil, vinegar, or other food complements. We love the shield of the city of Berlin with its dominant colors of red, black, and gray, and the pitchers themselves have great form with the larger and smaller paralleling each others' curves. The larger pitcher measures 5.0" high and 2.5" in diameter and the smaller pitcher stands 3.0" high and 2.0" in diameter. Both have gilt gold handles that add flair to the Berlin coat of arms. Both are marked on the bottom with the Alka Bavaria mark and other model number impressed and applied marks.      $28.00/pair

C032 Very pretty flow blue china reamer in the teapot style with nicely done flow blue decoration surrounding the entire perimeter of both teapot and reamer lid. We'd like to say that we think this is a 19th century Staffordshire piece, but our concensus is that while attractive and well done it is likely a reproduction done in the last 30 years or so. That being said, it's a great piece to both use and display, and it's marked on the bottom with a Staffordshire mark that is blurry and thus not made out fully. It's in excellent condition and measures approximately 6.0" in diameter not including the handle and rises to a height of 4.0" with reamer lid on. SOLD

Super 3 piece serving Johann Haviland serving set comprised of serving platter 12.75" x 9.5" and two serving bowls 10.75" x 7.75" and 2.75" high. We really like the nice, clean design of this pattern, trimmed in silver that's a perfect highlight to the gleaming white porcelain of the body. All 3 pieces are marked on the bottom with the Johann Haviland Bavaria Germany crown mark and are in excellent condition. Descending from the French Haviland China founders of Limoges fame, Charles Haviland's son Jean moved to Bavaria in 1907 to begin the Johann Haviland Company. Bavaria was the only other region outside France and China where the essential "kaolin" could be found. The Johann Haviland Company was comparatively short-lived, ceasing production in 1924. The name rights to Johann Haviland were eventually purchased by an Italian Company, and later by the Rosenthal Group. $55.00/set of 3

More new selections from the rare floral collection of fine bone china just came in, and one of the stars is this lovely Nippon China coffee cup and matching saucer is all hand decorated and beautiful to look at. This hard to find set of 4 coffee cups and matching saucers is particularly striking because of the subtle, muted colors of green and pink that dominate the hand painted decoration, and you can see shades of purple rising over the horizon as you look into the distance. Exceptionally high quality and hard to find, each cup and saucer is also trimmed in gold and in excellent condition, and the cups are properly marked on the bottom with the Hand Painted Nippon china sun mark. The saucers measure approximately 5.5" in diameter while the cups measure 4.0" in diameter and stand 2.0" high.
