listed is a fantastic bakelite and lucite purse, with nicely curved
surfaces and measuring approximately 8.0" wide, 4.0" deep,
and 3.5" high not including the matching twin handles. The
body of the purse is a richly colored Bakelite, while the clear
top features a carved starbust design. This vintage handbag is in
excellent condition, with no warping, no vinegar smell , no clouding,
and the original clasp that closes very tight. We have a particular
fondness for this color combination, and we liked the curved surfaces

Super
celluloid and rhinestone brooch, a very unique styling that features
a highly detailed basket of flowers with 5 purple dangle crystals.
We really love the style of this vintage celluloid pin, with the
purple rhinestones in the flowers and matching angular purple crystal
dangles really contrasting nicely with the cream colored celluloid
of the flower basket itself. The flowers are overflowing the basket,
and the rhinestones are used to great effect to simulate the real
look of a floral arrangement. This vintage rhinestone and celluloid
pin is in excellent condition, with the basket of flowers itself
measuring 2.5" wide and 1.5" high and the 5 crystals extending

combines the colors of butterscotch with tinges of red for a great
look. It measures approximately 0.375" wide and 2.75"
in diameter. Most rope carved bangles are not carved this deeply,

marked on the rear "Made In USA" and measuring approximately
3.0" wide and 1.875" high. It's unusual to see copper
paired with celluloid in vintage hair combs, and even more so to
see the engraved decoration adding special flair to this haircomb.
The celluloid is also a desirable red / brown color, and it's in
very good condition with some very minor tarnishing to the copper
that will most likely come off if you so desire, but we prefer the
original finish and patina. |

Impressive
and rare Toro Lucite tortoise shell purse, a fantastic look from
the mid-20th century and very avidly collected today. It's a real
beauty, with alternating darker and lighter vertical areas of color
that really catch the light, and a cool brass highlight rim forming
the lower part of the handle which retains its original patina.
We love the contrast between the tortoise shell Lucite and the clear
Lucite geometric grid top, which lifts up to reveal the nice size
interior and the Toro NYC mark impressed in the metal hinge. The
box style purse measures approximately 3.75" high not including
the handles which extend upward another 5.0", 8.0" wide,
and 4.0" deep. This style is very hard to find, partially because
of its classic looks and colors which look great with most anything.
The purse is in very good condition, with some minor age wear to
the darker color seams in a few places, and the original clasp is
missing one brad which can be readily replaced. There are no cracks
or damage, and it retains its 4 original metal ball feet as it comes
to you from a Malibu, CA hilltop estate. |

Very
cool deeply carved vintage Bakelite bangle has a floral design coupled
with a geometric, Art Deco influenced design on the other side,
and the carving is precise and includes open areas through the bangle
that reflect a design style that's very hard to find. This rare
find is also super chunky, measuring a full 1.5" wide and 2.75"
in diameter, and it's in mint condition. You won't find many Bakelite
bangles like this anywhere, and when you do they are usually offered
at prices that can be twice what we are selling this one for on
Collectics. We particularly like the contrast between the floral
carving on one side and the geometric on the other, part of a major

Early
period 8 piece celluloid plastic and wood men's toiletries set in
the original pigskin box and all in near mint condition. There is
no damage to any of the pieces, and overall the set and even the
bristles of the brush look to have never been used. The set consists
of 4 covered plastic boxes of varying sizes (5.75" x 3.0", 4.25"
x 1.5", 6.5" x 1.5", and 3.75" x 2.0"), a 4.5" x 2.5" wood brush
with beautiful finish (see photo), a comb, a shoe horn, and a mirror
on a stand. The only flaw in this entire period set is the missing
loop on the front of the original leather box! The box itself measures
10.5" x 6.5" and stands 2.75" high. Beautiful golden finish on the
plastic. The side of the brush is marked "Gift Set", "Nylon", and
"USA". The color and condition of this set is fantastic and definitely
period. |

In
a very hard to find color and with eye catching style, this vintage
Bakelite purse features all original hardware and a lovely and deeply
carved clear Lucite top and matching handle. It's also an unusual
and irregular shape, with sides extending out a few degrees top
to bottom and then angling up toward the clear Lucite top. It features
a clear Lucite closure with brass fastener pin and 4 Lucite ball
feet on the bottom. The Bakelite body is particularly nice in that
it features angled lines in a slightly darker shade that add incremental
contrast to the piece and make for some added design flair. This
vintage Bakelite and Lucite purse is in excellent condition and
measures approximately 8.0" wide, 3.25" deep, and 4.0"
high not including the clear Lucite handle which rises another 4.5"

consignment. We love clamper bracelets in general for the
comfort factor and which have become very hard to find. It is quite
rare to see a period carved Bakelite bangle coupled with brass mounts
