Fun
sterling silver fish charm is a fine example of "metales casados"
and is a unique blend of sterling silver with gold, copper, and
enamel highlights that reflects high quality craftsmanship and a
super design. The colors make it much more interesting and realistic
than sterling silver alone, and the overall effect is one of added
realism for the piece that really draws the eye. The tropical fish
is also a very interesting shape, and it has a small hole on the
upper fin ready for your favorite chain to make it into one of your
most interesting accessories. Marriage of Metal or "metales casados"
is an ancient Mexican metal technique which dates back to at least
2500 B.C. It is known to have been used in the Olmeca, Monte Alban
and Zapoteca cultures and most certainly by the Mayans. It is a
way of combining two or more different matals; silver, brass, copper
and other metals in designs. Pieces made with this method are each
truly one of a kind. It comes to Collectics through a Bristol, TN
estate collection and is in excellent condition, measuring approximately
2.5" high and 2.0" wide. It's well marked on the back
"TU-06", "Mexico", and "Metales Casados".

Outstanding
ceramic horse TV lamp, one of the best we've ever seen with the
fabric backing and hand stiched detail that is incredibly hard to
find and practically impossible to find in this near mint condition.
The overall design look of this TV lamp is truly outstanding, and
we love the horse theme and the action oriented gallop pose that
is captured in the ceramic. This lamp looks as good with the light
on as the light off, and by the way the light bulb is in the back
so the soft, ambient lighting shines through from the rear of the
lamp and puts the black horse in front in silhouette. The material
backing has the loosely woven look of linen on the bottom, with
a slight green tent, while the upper fabric provides a canopy that
gives the lamp a 3 dimensional look. It has been treated in some
manner to make it stiffer and more substantial, almost like a coating
used to preserve Egyptian mummy wrappings. The lamp measures approximately
9.0" high at the highest point, and it's 10.0" wide and
5.5" deep at the longest points. It's marked on the back "965"
in the ceramic, and we think this is probably a Royal Haeger lamp
that lost its paper sticker; cross listed on Lamps 2.

long and 0.5" wide. The horse is nicely rendered in the lucite center,
making for a three dimensional effect. The pin is very pretty and

birdhouse pin has terrific detailing in both the bird house and

Cute
framed post card of Santa's Christmas Poodle Sleigh! At first we
thought this was a print, but the backing was removed from the frame
to reveal the Avanti "12 Dogs of Christmas" card inside.
The frame is a nice goldtone metal 7.25" high and 5.25"
wide, and there is a hook on the top to hang on the wall. The frame
is missing a back and can be replaced with cardboard or similar
cover material. Buy it for the frame or buy it for the poodle postcard
and a sure conversation piece or an attention getting gift!

and eclectic, we can already foresee the scotty dog and bakelite
collectors fighting over this bakelite scottie dog bangle bracelet.
Needless to say, they're very hard to find and sought by multiple
classes of collectors, a popular color of vintage marbled bakelite
with a painted scotty dog for special flair. This one is in very
good condition, with the bakelite bangle measuring approximately
3.5" in diameter and 0.5" wide, and the featured scotty
is on one side and is guaranteed to generate questions and comments.
It's in excellent condition, part of a Hilton Head, SC collection
of vintage bakelite and lucite; cross listed on Bakelite 3.

Very
fine framed and signed Ruane Manning dog lithograph wherein we can't
decide whether we like the litho or the frame better. Artist Ruane
Manning creates spectactular works of art with a reverence for nature
and the creatures that share our planet, and his images come to
life through the expert use of light, authentic detailing and intimate
knowledge of his subject's form, behavior and habitat. Ruane studied
at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, then spent several years as an
advertising artist. Ruane has won awards from the prestegious Philadelphia
Art Alliance for his illustrations and sculpture. In 1968, his first
wildlife print was published. Since then, he has won international
acclaim for original oil paintings and works created for such companies
as The Danbury Mint, The Franklin Mint, and The Hamilton Collection.
The carved wood frame is most likely Amish in origin, beautifully
carved on all 4 corners with a heart and flower design and really
setting off the picture within. The print itself is clearly of very
fine quality with excellent detail and realism evident in the depiction
of the dog. This is a perfect work for a variety of home decor and
locations, with the dog framed in the reeds and grasses with birds
flying overhead and trees in the background. The print is signed
in the lower right corner and also hasa 1994 copyright of the Donald
Art Co. and "Litho in USA". Both frame and print are in
excellent condtiion; the frame measures approximately 15.5"
x 13.5" while the print itself measures 9.75" x 7.75". Right
off the wall of New Canaan, CT country estate; cross listed on Art

Very
fine Secla Portugal covered duck, and colorful and whimsical design
with a degree of realism you find only with the best ceramics manufacturers.
The duck upper cover is nicely textured in the ceramic for an added
degree of realism in the feathers and tail, and note the rear feet
sticking out in the back just above the basket. The lower dish has
a woven texture that nicely complements the duck sitting above.
The piece measures approximately 5.5" high, 7.5" long,
and 3.5" wide, and it's in excellent condition and properly
marked on the bottom "Secla Portugal." Cross listed on

Here
is a wonderful horse ring dish and covered box set from the mid
sixties. The ring dish measures 4.0" long and 3" wide
and is marked on the bottom H. D. Ammerman 1965. The box measures
4.75" long, 3.5" wide and 1.5" tall. This 1960's
set is inscribed "Created for John Mckenzie & Co., Inc.
by H. D. Ammerman , 1965". The gold trim is intact and the
set is without chips or dings. It's a fun horse set for use in
any room of your house.

Beautiful
set of 8 aluminum drink coasters with a terrific bird scene flying
down into the reeds and water on the front and the analogous scene
in reverse on the back. This is because the scene is pressed into
the coaster to create a raised surface on the top and an impressed
surface on the back, but both capturing the nicely detailed waterfowl
scene. Each of the set of 8 coasters is in very good condition and
measures approximately 3.125" in diameter each. Cross listed
