Superb
bulbous shape sets this Orrefors Mingus hand blown glass martini
pitcher apart from the rest. A charming, handmade container that
looks more like a cross between a kettle and a teacup, the Orrefors
martini pitcher is always a winner at parties—by virtue of its bulbous
organic perfection. This inimitable martini pitcher is as plump
as a piggy bank, but even if you fill it to the brim, it never seems
to slosh over. It can also be used for a variety of other drinks
of course. It measures approximately 6.0" high, 7.0" in
diameter, and 10.0" long spout to handle. We love the design
and it's in excellent condition; you will see one bubble in the
glass as is expected in handblown work. It's missing the Orrefors
paper label but readily identifiable as this is a well known retired,
i.e. they don't make it anymore, Orrefors design; cross listed on

listing! Moser green glass jar in the round with textured gold trim
around the body and on the cover. The cover design done on top with
gold is one of leaves, flowers, and a floating butterfly. Raised
surfaces in the gold add depth to the design. This round jar measures
approximately 1.75" in diameter and rises to about 1.5" high. Excellent
condition with no chips or damage and minimal loss of the gold highlighting.

New
listing of a rare Victorian "mourning" pin, with black enamel flower
petals and pearls and seed pearls creating the flower, in 14k gold.
This elegant piece was an accessory worn to funerals in earlier
times, but it looks great today with most any style. It's in very
good condition, missing no pearls, and the flower measuring approximately
1.125" in diameter and a small stem 0.5" long. From the collection
of a major New Hampshire collector of pre-1900 jewelry.

New
listing! Mint condition Tiffany candle lamp measuring approximately
13.0" high when assembled. You can find Tiffany candle lamp bases,
but having an original Tiffany Favrile glass shade and particularly
the stem is significantly harder. The 9.25" high stem has a mechanism
at the bottom which slots down into the candle lamp base (5.0" high
and marked L.C.T.), and the stem also has a spring mechanism which
pushes the candle up toward the top within its glass tube. The glass
on the stem itself is milky white with green decorations and in
mint condition. The shade sits on top of the top ring of the stem,
and it measures 4.0" high and is marked on the top edge L.C.T. Favrile.
Note the quality if this shade in the top decoration transitioning
to the ruffled effect at the bottom, and its shape is inherently
elegant with the bottom folds opening out to a diameter of approximately
7.75". From a major Greenwich, Connecticut estate, we've priced
this piece to sell fast. Cross listed on Deco/Nouveau 1. lz

Very
fine and large, these Val St. Lambert crystal candlesticks are typical
of the top quality crystal that this important French glassworks
has produced for over 100 years. Each of the two candlesticks has
a striking flared base, flaring out to a full 4.75" in diameter,
and they rise to a height of approximately 10.25". The simple
yet elegant design makes them a perfect design complement for any
room, and the quality of the crystal will really be evident if you
put them where they'll get some daytime sunlight. They're both in
excellent condition with no chips or damage, and they have "Val
St. Lambert" etched in the base. Priced to sell, these are
directly off the truck from a major Scottsdale, Arizona estate collection;
cross listed on Glass 1.

display although it looks great with or without flowers. Unmarked
as were most all of the frogs, but unconditionally guaranteed period

Take
your pick! Two lovely, matching, and old Royal Worcester ewers c.
1900. 1. The first pitcher stands 7.75" to the top of the
interesting funnel shaped spout and has handpainted decorations
of wildflowers on each side of the pitcher. It's in excellent condition
and has the distinctive tree bark spout and is fully marked with
the purple Royal Worcester mark, Reference no. 37112, the
number 1116, and the artist's initials. 2. The second pitcher
stands 6.75" high and has matching wildflowers handpainted on each
side and gold scallop trim at the top, gold trim on the bottom,
and an ornate tree bark handle. This pitcher, while rare, has a
professionally restored crack at the spout which has been very nicely
repaired and then painted with a line analogous to the flower stems
on the decoration to really make it blend in and appear to be part
of the design. To be honest, we were fooled ourselves at first so
you can be assured it's pretty effective- see closeup photograph
3. Fully marked with the purple Royal Worcester mark, Reference
no. 74149 the number 1229, and the artist's initials H.S.
Outstanding in every way -- take your pick at $325.00 which includes

Ornate
metal frame is magnificent in itself, but it contains curved glass
and an incredibly detailed, emotive image of a young girl within
to make this a very special find. We love the frame, highly detailed
and clearly the work of very skilled craftsmen, and it measures
approximately 21.0" high including the crown and 15.0"
wide. The image is well embedded inside the frame, and we do not
wish to dislodge it to examine the work very closely but it appears
to be a lithograph. The frame and curved glass would highlight any
photograph or print you choose to insert, but we and those we consulted
believe the image of the young girl has a strong value to complement
the obvious value of the frame. All period and old, it was lifted
off the wall of a Greenwich Village townhouse mansion in New York
City; cross listed on Art 3. |

Super
period Art Deco glass vase, probably Loetz Austria, is an iridescent
green fan vase with applied glass fan designs alternating between
down and up really adding design flair to this piece. Four wave
lines, all hand done, connect the 4 fan designs around the perimeter
of the vase. The iridescence is very strong, with strong purples
coming through to combine with the green iridescent for a rich,
vibrant effect. We love the overall shape too, a nice size at approximately
6.25" high and 7.0" in diameter at the widest point. It's
in excellent condition and unmarked, part of a major Stamford, CT
estate collection of period Art Deco and Art Nouveau art glass.
Because we are uncertain a definitive Loetz Austria origin we've
priced the piece as period 1930s art glass from the Deco period;

Beautiful
Royal Vienna period Art Nouveau cup c. 1900. The cup has beautifully
colored and detailed painting of 2 maidens in the garden on one
side and cupid shooting his arrow on the other. As you can recognize
when you see the quality, the cup is signed by the top art nouveau
artist Wagner to the right of the 2 women. The cup is finished in
gold on the interior. Don't miss the ornamental decoration on the
bottom plus the gold trim where the cup meets the base stem. The
cup is properly marked on the bottom with the Royal Vienna mark,
the number 27994, the word "Germany", and what appears to be "Zur
Klusenzeil". Absolutely MINT condition in every way. The cup is
2.565" in diameter at the top and stands 3.25" high to the top of
the cup and slightly over 4" high to the top of the handle. Great
little object d'art from the turn of the century. lz

New
listing! Important Manfredi 1968 oil on ceramic tile painting on
tile "Mosaic Dancers", by Alberto Manfredi (Italian b.
1930), signed in the lower right corner "Manfredi '68. Five
dancing figures are depicted with a ball of fire in the upper right,
stylized depictions that evoke the sense of another world and whose
color scheme really catches the eye. The work is mounted on wood
and is quite heavy, and frame is original to the piece and may once
have been a table top as Manfredi sometimes did oil paintings on
tile for very high end, one of a kind Italian furniture pieces.
It measures approximately 29.5" high x 20.5" wide with
the frame and approximately 29.5" high x 18.75" wide without.
The painting is in very good condition with only a single tile in
the center missing its color surface layer, easily restored with
a little oil paint if you so desire although we would leave it as
is. Appraised on 11/12/96 for $3500, Manfredi's work has consistently
increased in value and is offered here at a bargain price especially
with free shipping within the continental U.S. (it's very heavy!),
direct from a major Dallas, Texas estate collection. Cross listed

a rare example of animal theme Teplitz amphora ceramic vase with
this super parrot amphora vase measuring approximately 8.5"
high and 4.0" in diameter at the widest point. Four parrots
in a rich shade of blue with gold heads and highlights grace the
4 sides of this parrot amphora. We particularly like the base color
and detail, and it's fully and completely marked with "Amphora"
in a circle, the crown mark of the Imperial Amphora Co., 11907 over
51 impressed, and "Austria" in a circle. In excellent
condition with no chips or damage, it comes direct from a major

You'll
be glad you don't have to pay for shipping this very heavy, highly
detailed Russian bronze of a galloping horseman and his stallion,
signed by the artist in Russian in the bronze. Consigned to us from
a Russian immigrant's NYC estate, this bronze has some of the finest
detailing we've seen in a bronze in some time. The folds and accessories
so evident in the horseman's uniform and the facial details of both
rider and horse are outstanding. Action bronzes are always harder
to render and more desirable to collectors, and you can see why
as you examine the photographs of this piece. The horseman's gun
is slung over his shoulder and will lift off his arm as a separate
piece. The brown patina is quite rich and it's in excellent condition.
It measures approximately 12.75" high including the 1.25" high marble
base, and the bronze is approximately 12.75" long and 5.75" wide. /550

Outstanding
original signed and numbered print by Gabriel Portoles with the
original certificate of authentication by the Collector's Guild
of New York. Portoles was born in 1930 in Jaca, Spain and is one
of Spain's most exciting artists. He is known as a master of "retablo"
painting, or works that have a historical or allegorical context.
The colors in this work are vivid and vibrant, the textural and
color transitions giving it a kind of collage effect. The prints
is signed by the artist and is numbered 115/275, and the print is
in excellent condition. The print itself measures approximately
19.0" wide and 13.5" high, and the frame measures 25.0" wide and
19.0" high. An interesting bio of the artist is attached to the
rear, consigned from a major Greenwich, CT estate.

Very
finely done original lithograph c. 1903 by well known illustrator
Howard Chandler Christy (1873-1952) "Looking Backwards",
a portrait piece very indicative of his most famous work in the
early 1900s. Christy appeared regularly in magazines through 1905.
At right is a rather tentative two-color cover for the January
1900 issue of The Ladies Home Journal. The early 1900's were a
period of intense effort. His work appeared in more and more books
and in all the major magazines of the day - Harpers, Scribner's,
Century, McClures, etc. Christy was also known for his gift book
formats, large format books with lush illustrations including
The American Girl and The Christy Girl, both done in 1906. This
lithograph was copyrighted by Charles Scribner & Sons in 1903,
most likely artwork done for their magazine, and was printed by
A. Grignard of New York. Across the bottom of the print are the
marks for Charles Scribner & Sons, the copyright date, A.
Grignard, title Looking Backwards, and signed & dated 1903
by Howard Chandler Christy. The work is housed in a nice period
frame, meausures approximately 22.0" x 19.0", and is
in very good condition; cross listed on Art 2. /325
